by Tim Trotter, chief executive officer
For the past seven years, I have had the true privilege of serving you as executive director of Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative. I have worked alongside incredibly talented individuals and true visionaries of this industry, learning as much as I can along the way. We have done some exceptional work and accomplished great things and have seen tremendous growth in recent years. Edge now ranks third largest in the country among dairy cooperatives based upon milk production. While I am proud of the success this organization has found, I recognize that past success does not indicate future performance. For Edge to remain as strong as it is today, we must focus on the future direction of the organization. What will the needs of the industry be down the line? What will the industry look like in the future? If we can answer these questions, Edge will be better positioned to meet the needs of our members and stakeholders. It is in this vein that I am proud to share that your board of directors has promoted me to chief executive officer to lead the focus on our strategic priorities. We have unique opportunities to increase member value, drive solutions to dairy’s challenges and strengthen our position for the future. I am excited for this new challenge and eager to work with our members, board and staff to ensure positive results. The executive director position will now be reshaped into a managing director role in charge of the day-to-day business operations. A search is underway for candidates for that position, and I will keep you updated when we have more to share. We remain steadfast in our work to amplify your voice on the challenges facing our farmers. We are here to support you in any way we can. My best, Tim
